'62 Gold Jag - Price Check Please

Post by DarrelT » Thu Oct 12, 2006 9:51 am

Appears to be an all original '62 Jag.  Gold w/matching headstock.
I can't find a comparable.

Well, I sortof figured that.  The only custom color that old  I've seen recently was a '63 Dakota Red w/natural headstock

Another unusual thing is that it's got a tortise guard.  I had read that most cutom colors came with mint green.

Dealer prices on something like that would be closer to 7.5K (a clean '65 matching headstock  shoreline gold Jag sold in like a day at a Baltimore dealer for 8K FWIW), but I'd think 5K is probably a fair price for a non dealer transaction and around would it would go for on ebay if it was all original.  I remember seeing a very very questionable one on ebay a while ago, that had a tort guard with non matching headstock, but was a 64 if memory serves.

I still lament the day I got outbid on a shoreline 63 Jazzmaster that was mislabelled as BMM. It went for 6.4K on ebay about 3 years ago and was sold  2 or 3 days later for nearly 10K.

Tell us more about this one....
I'm a reasonable man get off my case...

Belongs to a coworker.  Out of courtesy, I need to check with him tomorrow before I post any more info.
