I saw the LPB V at the Philly show last year. It belongs to Top Shelf Music in Buffalo, NY.
Had a 6K tag on it.
It froze me in my tracks!
Competition Stripes make them play FASTER.

I had one of these for a few years... They look pretty crazy in person. The head is simply massive. The body shape makes you think its gonna be small like a Mustang Bass. Its about an inch-and-a-half longer end to end than a Jazz. It has its own specific case, and won't fit in any other case. It had a high C. The point was to be able to get to most of the notes on the whole neck of a normal bass in the first position. It was like playing an aircraft carrier. The body is so long!
In fact, despite reading it forever, I totally don't buy the "cut-down-for-Swinger-bodies" story. I might be wrong (its been a few years), but I vaguely recall the neckplate being different (bigger?). I think they all have 600XXX serial numbers, and the plates were shared with the LTD or something. Plus Swinger bodies are tiny, and these are giant.

Me either. I always thought Swingers were cut from Musicmaster bodies...
Q. Are we not men?

....and the Musicmaster bodies were cut from trees...hmmm...the plot thickens.....
*sherlock holmes hat on*
so if the Maverick was cut from XII bodies, which were also cut from trees, then how did I just manage to cut my finger?
hmmmmm.....

That's a massive body!
Times change. Remember when dog Jimmy used to go white and chalky? Now it grows hair! We got used to it. We'll get used to poly. -blueavenger
