Lefty Jazzmaster with matching headstock, maple fretboard, black binding, pearl block inlays. Oooooh, so R@R3!

Too big of an image, so here's a link too:

Maple board JMs are so rare to begin with, let alone a lefty AND a custom color!

That is really amazing. Obviously these guys got their gear through the endorsement, but I wonder what it cost in the day and how that translates to modern dollars.

I wonder if that guitar is still with the original owner /player.

Is it fair to say that this is probably the rarest Jazzmaster around? Surely it's the only one ever made? :derp:

I'd be really interested to know if (or how many) others were made. It seems like there would have to be a few? There's probably no way of knowing.

I thought my blonde '58 gold guard was a rare JM... this must top it.

I was thinking ~1967 based on the hair, clothes, blackfaced amps and B&B.

Then I found this:

Yep, 1967.

Here's a site on their frontman, is it the guy with the JM?

Ah ok. Just trying to figure out who has that JM, thinking maybe we could find out somehow if he still has it! Or at least some info...

:)

I'll do some looking around. Definitely a cool guitar and I'd love to see if it still exists as pictured.

With that said, check out Emitt Rhodes first album. Written and recorded at 20, he plays all the instruments and sings. It's the Beatles album that the Beatles never made!

I was reading about that! I haven't listened to it yet, though. The article I linked earlier said he peaked at age 24. :(

Just heard that Emitt Rhodes died a few days back, and didn't even warrant a mention in the RIP thread. I was blissfully unaware of him myself till this morning, as a friend sent a link to a song from his solo debut, but I'll definitely be checking out that LP later.

Old thread but that's Bill Rinehart with the Jazzmaster I believe. He died a few years back, and left The Merry Go Round not long after this after twatting their manager ;D

UVC - Emitt Rhodes first two solo albums are both amazing, as is 'american beauty' which is essentially a second Merry Go Round lp. The guy was pure quality
