That was actually made by Harmony, it's the upscale version of the bobcat.

Mmmmmm.... DeArmonds.

I love Harmony Bobcats- those DeArmond pickups are genuine tone machines.  I'm still pouting that my parents sold my Silvertone Bobcat at a yard sale when I was away at college.

Yeah DeArmonds sound gorgeous... I used to have a 66' Airline hollowbody with two of them.... until some rat-bastard stole it.

I used to have the two-pickup version of that guitar...sold it to get my first jag. The pick-ups are great indeed. Big PITA factor with that guitar was the bridge though... just a piece of fretwire on a jazz bridge, which wasn't fixed to the pickguard or body in any way. So every time I'd do heavy strumming, the whole bridge itself would be moved out of position. Useless. Easily fixed with some glue, I suppose.

I had a two pickup '65 Harmony Bobcat w/o trem. It must have been the very bottom of the line. I bought it at a pawn shop in Tucson for $45. It had the "floating" bridge too. The first time I changed strings and it fell off, I thought wtf?

It was a pretty cool little guitar though! I considered making somehting out of it, but ended up selling it.

I'm a fan of cheap, good sounding guitars and I'm pretty sure a few stores that I frequent have some of these. What are some good prices for these?

Until a few months ago, I had a nice '66 Silvertone Hornet made by Danelectro that had a similar body shape to this one, and played like a dream... unfortunately, some dirtbag broke into my car in fromt of my house and STOLE it.  It was gorgeous, and I loved her. Two lipstick picups and a wide neck... it growled even when I was playing through a nice clean amp.  Got a Mustang CIJ reissue just to fill the hole in my heart that the Silvertone left behind... I'd post a picture of her, but it might cause the tears to well up.  I got it for $400, and I'm not sure what a "good price" would be, but it was worth every penny to me...

It looks contentious, but I think it *just* about gets in...
