Fucking amazing man! I'm so glad you did it the way you did. Frankenstang for the win!
Coolest restoration I've seen on here in a while.

Might just be the coolest mustang on the planet. Love a guitar that has a story and isn't afraid to show it. This guitar actually has TWO stories.. ;D

All done!

I finally found the perfect project for those mismatched strap buttons in my cache of parts.

I'm not too good at writing out sound descriptions, but I'd say it sounds surprisingly normal for how weird it looks. No strange creaking noises or death rattles.

It was cleaned up and found its way onto a build - the only remaining part is the neck, and I'm not planning on fixing it up. There's not much left. Though you never know. Someday I might find a busted-off headstock with a big chunk of maple still attached.

i really got to admit that i envy your crafting skills! but i got to admit that at first i wasnt sure if that project would work out, but it really turned out beyond expectations and you really saved 2 old guitars by making something playable and unique out of it
:D Gotta love them Offsets :D

There are a lot of projects, builds, restorations and rescues on this forum - this is right up there, among my favourites. Nice work - and great choices, letting the true character of this beastie show through!
