Yamaha SG-3 Restoration

Post by Howard Lister » Sat Jul 29, 2017 10:44 pm

I am new to this site, so please bear with me. I hope someone can assist me with information regarding my Yamaha SG-3 guitar. I have owned this guitar since 1976. I am currently trying to restore it and I am having a few issues. I have measured the resistance on the pickups and they seem to be ok, the pots however have resistances of between 1.0 to 1.5 megaohms. From what I have read this resistance is too high? Could someone advise me of the correct resistance and also where I could find replacement pots?
There are a total of 5 pots, 1 volume, 1 tone, 2 mini (16mm), 1 dual mini (16mm).
Thanks, Howard
