First Post so glad to join the gang!

I recently scored a late '65/early '66 jazzmaster in pretty great shape. The original pickguard however does have a complete crack (all the way through the guard) near one of the screws. I tried a cheap replacement guard but realised nothing quite has the look of the original & would rather use the original if I can.

What would be the best way to try a repair on this crack? Would superglue be enough to hold it together? Or should I just tape over it & live with the asthetic issue?

Would be cool if there was some form of Kintsugi for cracked tort. Gold powder and resin combined to show the crack rather than hide it. In any case, I have nothing more to add, but wish you luck on your endeavor.

You could use superglue but there is also special glue for plastic, just make sure that if you get one it's good for celluloid

I've had some success using acetone and clamping the two halves together. the acetone i brushed on with a small fine paintbrush, into the broken edges and then the tort melted together under the clamp. its not invisible but it does hold
