Just got an email from Fender on a new H.E.R. Stratocaster in a finish called Blue Marlin. It has some elements of this finish , but doesn’t scratch the surface of Copacetic’s build.

Agree. The color Blue Marlin, is def. pretty cool, but purpleburst is still better IMO.

Wow that is amazing work. I don’t think you can tell the difference between a vintage burgundy and this other than the slab body giving it away. The relicing is on another level, I can’t imagine how much time you spent on the checking alone. I really like the 69-70 mustang and this is probably the best restoration I’ve seen.

What color did you use for the competition stripes?

Wait, is this a real thing? At a Vintera price?

Goddamnit. I eed fewer guitars, not more, but that is effing beautiful.

Yep. Real thing, Mustang bass & guitar.
Vintera price so around 1000$/€.
But there is a major disappointment: no matching headstock!!
Bummer

Looks like you’re right on the money. Fender should bring it back, but they won’t do US Mustangs (besides the performer model), so I guess we’ll never see it.
Looks like this post aged bad. Not only did they bring it back, they made it a Mexican model. Lol
