Thanks!

That would be amazing but it’s up to Carson’s timeline. Quoted turnaround time is 6-8 weeks and in all likelihood we’re looking at January.

That said, I doubt many paint projects arrive in such prepped condition. It needs virtually nothing before color coats can be applied. Maybe that helps with the timeline? Not going to assume anything though.

I dare you to scribe a very faint line where the shared seam of the body and the patch runs … !

Good eye!

Yes, longtime scooterist here (Vespa and Lambretta). Spent my college years working at a couple shops restoring these. Still have a TV200 and a couple others. I’ll post to that thread, always cool to run into other people into old scooters.

I just saw a strat body in person that Carson did and it looked amazing. It was more of a '61-ish sunburst.

So good, and I love that Carson re-did a Fender Custom Shop Rory Gallagher "relic" job that was truly appalling.

That "template" wear they do on artist tribute models is awful.

I realized that I haven't visited the restoration sub-forum in a while. Holy crap! This is really wonderful :-* I'm excited to see it in all its painted glory :w00t:

Thank you! I appreciate the feedback, glad you've enjoyed this resto.

I recently received a progress picture from Carson Hess of the body finish. I'll save it for the full reveal, but..... it looks incredible. ;D

To be fair even the one photo I saw was not a full view of the guitar! ;D

Getting very close though, can’t wait to share pics.

Chiming in to thank you for an amazing project/thread. LOL but despite your username, I didn’t make the connection that you are “that Rickenbacker guy” I follow on Instagram. Clearly I underestimated you. Can’t wait to see the paint!

Ha! That's me, I geek out on a lot more than just Rickenbackers (though my reputation precedes me).

And thanks, glad you've enjoyed this restoration. I'm itching to see final paint photos as much as all of you!
