Warmoth doesn't have a JM headstock. I'd stick with MusiKraft. They've got the right headstock and you could get a matching neck.

If the body is gonna have an amazing grain like the one above I'd go blonde (with matching headstock!!)  ;)

If it's possible I'd have the neck and the body cut from the same bit of Limba.. that grain looks amazing. Matching headstock woul be cool with figuring like that. Ebony board would be great.

Very nice, mcjt. I have a Musikraft neck as well. May I ask where you got the decal? I'd love to put one on mine.
Thanks.

Wow - after waiting over a month for the schmuck seller to send my Musikraft JM neck, it arrived today.  Talk about a killer neck!  Real clay side dots and inlays, correct spacing, nice flame all over and a great nitro (aged) finish.  This one is going to be perfect for my '63/'64 resto.

Anybody on the fence about Musikraft should seriously consider them for your replacement JM needs.

I've just had a quick look at their site.

Don't they do blocks & bindings??  ???

They didn't last time I checked, but I haven't actually asked them.  They recently had a price increase - they were really cheap before, now they're about the same or slightly cheaper than Warmoth I think.

I'm pretty sure you can add what you want - they just charge you extra for it which is why they have the extra "upcharge" fields in the web ordering tools.

I ordered a neck from them a few weeks ago(should have it in another few weeks) - slab board rosewood with aged clay dots and side inlays in between the fretboard and maple like on the vintage ones....they don't do that automatically if you don't request it.  I'm super excited.

this is a neck i already have for them- but it's going on to my 1960 body. this korina body will get something else...

musikraft starts at $195 for necks, warmoth at $157.  muskraft has more options, but warmoth won me over some time ago on consistency, quality and choice.

If you like Warmoth for those reasons, you should really try USA Custom Guitars. Hands down. Just something simple like rolled edges and superior fretwork, make a big difference.

It cost $240 from musikraft - the base price is $195 and I added the aged inlays which was a $45 upcharge - the requested position of thre inlay dots and a request for dark rosewood was no extra charge...
