I have one of the CS models. The tuners are the same that they use on the normal guitar scales. The profile of the shaft nor the slot is any different. The tapered wrap on the Fender strings that came stock fit in there with no problems.

I think all the new Bass VI's, CS & Japanese, use normal Kluson type tuners.  My Japanese Bass VI had standard tuners as well.
I say just keep looking on ebay.  Most likely someone will have a set and list them as $trat tuners.

yeah that is what I suspected.  If Fender isn't going to tool up for the correct size bridge for the CS Bass VI then they sure aren't going to tool up for the larger slotted tuners.

My CS 2006 looks like normal tuners, but  with the Fender Stainless Steel Strings fit is no problem.  Suprisingly, the tuners on my '95 Reissue definitely have a wider spread.  I don't know if they're as wide as vintage tuners, but they are clearly wider than the ones on the CS.

here is a pic of a 94 MIJ Bass VI headstock  (up on ebay as I write this)  ...  as DB pointed out the tuner slots do look larger and the profile seems thicker than standard guitar posts.  When were Japanese bass VIs available ?  were there two types of tuners used on the Japanese reissues ... early and late versions ?

Hi..while I agree fender US probably wouldn't tool up for the correct hardware..The japanese have a totally different ethic...they are the kings of copying..as far as I was aware and as shown in the pictures the Japanese Fender VI has the correct enlarged tuners and correct sized bridge unlike the CS VI..I was sure the twoJap VI's I've owned had the correct VI only parts the only thing wrong was that they didnt make the mute.

The pic above certainly confirms they did the tuners properly..that means fender Japan have a draw full of the correct tuners somewhere!

Can someone now put up some pics of the CS VI tuners?

Well from this angle they look like proper VI tuners not standard klusons to me!...need a proper close up profile shot to be 100% tho

The japanese tuners don't have deep 'cuts' like the original ones so i just figured they were the same/usual guitar type.

For the record, My Japanese Bass VI was from '94.  I bought it right when it came out for $599 (!!!)

mmmmm  very interesting  .....  two possible scenarios seem to be emerging  ...
1.  Fender japan did tool up and make bass VI specific tuners, although not exactly the same as the originals ,  and have a draw full of them still
2. Fender japan did tool up and make bass VI specific tuners, but not enough and maybe fitted gtr type klusons on some later models

A few of you may recall the 62 VI I rescued off of Ebay late last fall.
After a few go arounds (and a noble attempt by Stereoordinary) at repairing the massively altered headstock, I send the neck off to Mike Forrester.
Well after some time the neck headstock is finally coming together.
Here's some pictures of his progress:

Next will be refret and then the refinish on the body, and neck in Inca Silver.

Wow - looks like some pretty serious surgery. What a relief to see it coming back into some kind of usable shape.  :)

+1
amazing work on this headstock
will you paint it to match the body, or keep it "natural" ?
the surgery will be quite un-notice-able !
