Re: Hagstrom Futurama Coronado automatic restoration
Tisacsson,
Well first I would like to say sweet job on this so far! What a beauty. I would like to own one of these some day. It's a bummer you couldn't find the original switch plate and all that junk. But Working with what you got. I like it! This is a pretty rare guitar eh? I read somewhere that Hagstrom only made 200 of these specific guitars? Is that right?
Anyways, I own a few Hagstroms myself. An HII and two Impalas. Sweet ****ing guitars. I see that you have the "sweep" volume lever that would go under the pick guard on an Impala. I'm wondering if you are going to use it on this guitar? As it looks like you probably aren't, I was wondering if you would possibly want to sell it to me? The one on one of my Impalas is wearing out on me and I would like to find a replacement. If you wouldn't like to sell it I understand. No worries. And I'm wondering what you possibly did with the Impala you took all of this off of? If you were parting with the body/neck? I figured I'd ask.
Again sweet job on this Futurama. Great stuff. Can't wait to see it finished.
Thanks -Colin- (Malone10)

Hello!
I've been doing some more coats with primer and sanding. I'm gonna do one more layer with primer then i think I'm done before i paint it baby blue, so this is my last pictures before that.
i can start paint it around 10th of august.
Malone10 - Thank you for the kind words=)
i actually own one futurama in original condition, brown burst. from my source they made 150 in red burst and 50 in brown.
I do not really now if I'm gonna use the volume sweep pot yet, if i don't you can buy i from me.
Thanks again /Thomas
Hope you enjoy the pictures.

Cool! Let me know.
It's looking great. Can't wait to see it back to life. That's very cool that you own another. You should post a couple pictures of that one as well if you can. Loving the pictures.

No worries! Sorry for causing you extra work... having recently refinned a guitar in nitro I know how soon that stuff starts revealing whats underneath it. So I deffo feel it's worth getting 'right'Tisacsson wrote:Thanks for your advice with the white primer:)
This is going to look stunning!
How did you repair the end of the fretboard?

The fretboard was broken at the first fret, but I still had the pieces so I just glued it back togheter.
