Looking great. What colour did you go with? The original red?

Im gonna paint with Baby blue. There was to many screwholes so i hade to
choose a solid color, and not the original red burst. I think it will look great with baby blue. my Hagstrom futurama will be a mix between futurama Coronado automatic and the baby blue Impala.

Is that grey primer?

No offence intended, but I wouldn't go with that myself...would make for pretty unattractive wear compared to seeing the blue rub through to white or clear

Hi mgeek!

Its black primer. I Talked with some guys from Finland who made a restoration of an impala, they used black primer.
You can check out there project on this website

But maybe youre right! Do you think i can use white primer over the black one?

I know this is going to sound like a pain, but if it were me, I'd strip it back again and use white or clear.

Might just be my hangup though, so I would welcome other thoughts. I just don't feel like I've ever seen a factory finished vintage guitar that's worn back to reveal anything other than white or clear primer, and Baby Blue wearing through to the white base coat is such a classic look. Wearing through to black...not so much.

Tisacsson, are you located in Sweden? If so, check out gitarrdelar.se, they have nitro in lots of different colors. I have used it a couple of times, and it's high quality stuff. They also have grain fillers and other useful things.

Hello gentlemen!

recently i have striped the black primer off, now theres 2 coat with white primer instead. i need some more coats of primer, waiting for the cans to drop down i my mail box.
sadly i have to wait to paint it baby blue until september, the personel on my school have summer vacation.

Is there anybody that knows if i can use nitro lacquer over the blue color?

Tell me what you think so far.
