Re: '59/'67 Jazzmaster Restoration
I thought the covers were new ones that had been relic'd. No the wrong with them. They fit the whole loo and new ones might look too new. I'd try to clean 'em up with a toothbrush and some detergent. Then maybe a little baking soda if a little abrasive is needed.

Re: '59/'67 Jazzmaster Restoration
was a bit skeptical at the start as im not a huge fan of gold anything but wow! it came out amazing, the relicing is spot on and the pickup covers are perfect imo. Only think that I would have done differently is keeping the headstock stock. Lovely lovely
If OSG has tort me anything...

You're right. They look good. I'm not going to mess with them. They're supposedly original or period correct to the pickups anyway.kosmonautmayhem wrote:I thought the covers were new ones that had been relic'd. No the wrong with them. I was trying to restore this as accurately as possible, so a matching headstock was in order! Plus the original decal was long gone so I needed a replacement anyway.soggy mittens wrote:was a bit skeptical at the start as im not a huge fan of gold anything but wow! it came out amazing, the relicing is spot on and the pickup covers are perfect imo. One of the first gold guitars I really, really like. Congrats. MJT is a killer. Knocked it out of the park on my LPB build as well

BTW: This is the guitar that made me want a gold B&B Jazzmaster so badly - an early Danocaster Jazzmaster (that has an F decal on it) which is owned by a friend now. I've tried to buy it from him a few times, but no dice! I think this turned out better than his did, in the end though . However, I sent MJT these images for color reference.
