Avatars - How do you create one to fit??

Post by lamf37 » Fri Apr 29, 2016 12:14 pm

I've tried to create an avatar to add to my profile to "Jazz up" my posts, hate people to think I've a lack of
imagination. Anyway, I'm stumped with this site, I've shrunk my photos, resized them, made them black and
White cropped them and virtually tried everything to get within the confines of the forum guidelines but nothing
seems to work...Don't tell me I need X amount of posts to do something as simplistic as giving myself an Avatar?

Apologies for the seemingly pointless post but stuff like this boils my piss!

Try converting to a GIF? (it's pronounced 'JIF' ;))

i don't have a computer, so i had to mess around a bunch. my phone saves images as really big files, so i uploaded the image i wanted into twitter, which compressed it (i think), and then used the link, and resized it using the resizing boxes on OSG

There's a bunch of online format convertion/resizing tools available. Can be handy. I use imgur.com for uploading pics too.

It's true because they rhyme.

:fp: No, it's 'jif' as in peanut butter, not 'jif' as in household cleaning products. ;)

Sorry to barge in - but the inventor of .gif format said it's pronounced jif. Google it. He won a lifetime achievement award and took that moment to set the record straight.

Hard to argue with the guy who invented it.
