possible separate bass section?

Post by hieronymous » Fri May 16, 2008 3:45 pm

Hi, I'm a pretty new member here, though I've been lurking for a while.

I was wondering if having a separate section for basses (especially the Bass VI but also Mustang Bass and Jazz Bass, etc.) was ever considered? They are definitely part of the offset family, but it can be kind of hard to dig through all the Jazzmaster/Jaguar posts to find the bass-specific ones.

Just a thought!
4 strings, 6 strings, 8 strings, more! (basses, that is)

Interesting idea....

On the other hand, have you tried the search function?

Welcome hieronymous. I suggest buying a Jazzmaster or a Jaguar, then it will be perfect. :D
Bigger in sum than parts.

What, is this TalkBass?  :P

Actually, yeah, I've searched a whole lot! And people like sookwinder have been very helpful as well.

Basses seem to be a niche or specialty area in this community, and as a bassist myself, I thought it might be nice for those posts to be gathered in one place. Like at the Rickenbacker forum, there are separate forums for guitar and bass, as well as a bunch of other variations. Maybe it's selfish on my part, but when you first arrive here as a bassist there's a LOT of stuff to go through, the bass threads can get kind of lost in the ocean...
