I notice several "ranks" indicated by stars. Some are silver, others gold, some have 5, some have 1 etc. What is the pattern?

Big blue stars indicate administrators, silver stars moderators, PAT PEND's get 1 star and PAT # members get 3. I think expats might get 5. Its really meaningless other then a quick way to visually identify the mods/admins from the rest of the gang.
