Hey, I gotta an idea!
Why don't we all get together and beat the shit out of the Shortscale.org guys and take all their guitars?
C'mon, it'll be fun...

I'm a member there too, I think anyway. I don't visit them much. However I do wish there was some more Mustang talk and topics here though. I'm a big Mustang man myself. But I do get a different feel here and I like it better. the people seem nicer and it seems like more people here build stuff. I like watching people build stuff more than just talking about the finished thing. Ya know?
I finally finish building a guitar, go to play it, and then remember, "oh yeah, that's right. I suck at playing... Why did I build another guitar again?"

I never got the feeling there is "envy" or "hate" from Short Scale towards OSG. As pointed out by others many memebers here are members there as well.
You always get the typical forum blah everywhere. Indeed some folks need to grow up.
I visit Shortscale from time to time. I can apreciate their points of vieuw on certain items as well. Though I'm not a registered member there as I find all I need here.

Again a heads up to the OSG Admin here for keeping this place so nice and polite! This form has grown extensively lately and still it feels like home... I think this is the BIG bonus on OSG here!

+1.

I've learned a great deal from the threads here, and even when I ask a really naive question I know I'll get a polite and helpful response.

I visit Shortscale sometimes, but one thing for me is that the forum looks kind of messy - there are hugs sigs and things like that. It can be difficult to read if I have to open a small window to log on in work.

yeah i don't think it's hate, per se. there's lotsa great people and info in there... but honestly, i do feel that there is this little clique/gang thing, and if you're not in, then you're out. and they make you feel that you don't, quite aggresively.
it didn't happen to me, but i see some newbies being thrashed like whoa!

ok then again, most guys over there are brits... and maybe i/we don't get their rude humour!  :P
but for those of us who will never be able to attend one of their meetings... we'll always be kinda outsiders.

...though i'm sure it'd be pretty fun to have some excessive booze with them, whilst being surrounded by old mustangs and jags...  :D

Hmm, are we 100% sure they're not pulling an almost 10 page long prank on us right now?  :D :P

Just kidding... or not!

Unfortunately, I've seen a lot of that there.  Someone will post something that the "good ole' boys" club disagrees with, and then nothing that person says from then on is right.  If you disagree with them, they flame you...If you agree, they call you a twat or cunt.  Usually it ends up with the outsider blowing up and getting banned, but only after weeks of constant needling.

It's a shame, because I like a lot of the folks there, and the projects are ace.  I just get tired of seeing people get bullied by a handful of the old timers that run together there.  :(

1946dodge, count me in!
I registered with shortscale but I don't think that I've ever even posted there. Definitely some good stuff (I especially like their builder) but I agree that's really messy. When the signatures take up more space on a page than posts, my claustrophobia kicks in. One visit to shortscale.org and I'm in the fetal position on my floor, weeping and sucking my thumb.

I almost have no doubt that the guys at shortscale have a thread going on ''those pansies at offset....''

Infidelity to other forums is a sin.  The Offset Bible tells us so.

More seriously.  I was a member of SS and it blew.  Those guys were so opinionated at the time, that anyone who disagreed that Marshalls were THE amp was ousted.  Never mind the fact that for my money they haven't made a decent amp since about 1987.  I didn't like it.  I don't think someone is "wrong" just because they don't care for the Marshall JVM series.  I think it was Mike mostly... not to be too much of a dick myself, but that guy was a grade-A A-hole.
