I've been a member since late 2006. It was a wonderful place then and it still is pretty awesome. I enjoy reading the majority of the topics and I hope to do so for many many years, or at least until I get a real life.  ;)

I haven't really noticed a larger guff to gold ratio here.  But I can usually tell those threads that are gonna get ugly, and avoid the guff.  Most of the pissing matches I see here are either politics, or arise from people taking offense at where none was intended, or making mountains out of molehills.  That's an inherent risk of communicating on the intarwebs, where quickly typed or poorly worded text can easily be misconstrued.
I can't hear the forest for all the falling trees.
