Irritating scrolling problem while posting.....Thoughts?

I recently upgraded IE (I know, I know), and now I'm having problems with the text field scrolling when I'm typing a post.  If I quote someone, or my post is long enough to have a scroll bar, it will scroll up to the top of the post everytime I stop typing.  I'll type a word, then it will immediately scroll back up so I can't see what I've typed.  The cursor doesn't move, but the view does.  Once I resume typing, it jumps back down...but if I stop, it returns to the top.  If I have to backspace, I can't see what the hell I'm doing.


ARGH!  It's driving me insane.  It does it on my laptop on occasion, as well.


Anyone else having this issue?

What version are you running now?  And you really oughta switch to Firefox.  Using IE is sorta like clinging to a 1975 K Car becuase the better gas milage and automatic windows of a new model make you feel spoiled.

I'm using 8, I think.  I have Firefox, but I'm so used to IE.  I'm so old school, that they tore the school down.

I've noticed the same problem, Nolan. It's God's way of telling you to cut to the chase.

The other thing IE8 is doing is squeezing the signatures down over the following subject line in a weird way.

Have you tried switching to compatibility mode (torn paper sheet icon on right of address line)?

I wondered what that thing was....I clicked it, and now it's fixed.  I was also having the signature bleeding in to the next post problem.

I think the real genius is the programmer at microsoft who designed a browser that needs a compatibility button to display properly...

Firefox is the way forward.  From version 2 on it's been awesome.  Before that I was all like "what's the fuss about?"

It's a shame really.  It could have gone a different way.  I used to like IE6 for it's functional minimalism, but since then all they've done is waste CPU time by adding visual effects junk which I switch off anyway, or stolen tabbed browsing and made it look like they thought of it.  If I want fancy looking fades and wipes I'll watch the original Star Wars trilogy, thanks Microsoft.  I feel the same about Vista; in terms of core functionality, not much has changed.  Just bloated and hacky code that uses up my processor cycles.  XP's better for the average user, still, I think.  Linux is fine if you want to devote ages to setting up networks and stuff, but to be fair at least the builds are small and efficient, which as a savvy but non-programming computer user I appreciate.
