Strange...

Post by MrWizard44 » Fri Jan 04, 2008 3:36 pm

Does anybody else think it's sort of silly that we can't delete the topics that we start in the Guitar Shop?  I mean, if we put something up in the Wanted section that we no longer want, or if something isn't for sale anymore, seems resonable that the wanter/seller could just remove his/her thread.  This might be stupid thing to say, I know - I'm not terribly internet-savvy.

Posts in the guitar shop (or anywhere for that matter) aren't meant to be deleted by anyone unless they are deemed inappropriate by the moderator of any particular forum.  If an item is sold or no longer for sale, it's good form to edit the first post in the thread so that the subject line states that status.  For example, you might add " - SOLD" to the end of the topic title.

Another reason they are left up, is to give a seller or buyer an indicator of how much a guitar or part has sold for in the past.

Oh, yes -- that seems like a good reason.

Speaking of changing titles, how do you do it exactly?

Edit your first post on the thread - you can change the thread title there.

It took me forever to figure that one out, too.
