Maybe the coolest guitar I've ever built (more NAMM recap)
part of this years NAMM display, this was a pet project of mine based on the old EKO Ekomaster400
It's based on my Kauer Daylighter Express model. So solid Spanish Cedar body, spanish cedar neck (24.75" scale). The pickups are Lollar Goldfoils (fantastic!). Top is Tupelo Orange metal flake (.004, .008 and .015" flake) with one of the limited run Copper Mastery's. Pickguard is a textured polycarbonate like they use for light fixtures that I cut and bound. I also bead blasted the back side to get just the right opacity. Lastly as a tip of the hat to Supro this has a Kauer emblem I helped design in conjunction with a friend (Mason Stoops and I gave input to the main designer http://www.cameronthrone.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) and laser cut out of 1/8" acrylic on my laser.
Lots of little unique details. The back is white pearl while the neck is black. The knobs are Hofner Teacup repro's that I modded to sit as tight to the nut as possible then made my own ring surrounds (colored in with goldtop lacquer).
I love this thing. Sounds amazing and is so unique looking.

I love everything about this guitar, it's gorgeous. And that color scheme is almost identical to off the guitars I'm working on now

I fully agree. I've already made my feelings on this guitar known in the 2015 NAMM thread (page 4). I like seeing these other pics from different angles...looks even better than I thought. Love the color (I've got a bit of an orange/metalflake thing as it is, so anything sporting that look is going to automatically grab my attention and rev up the drool glands). It's like a Creamsicle with some black chocolate tastefully injected throughout.
It just so happens that it's all on a very cool guitar beyond just the sparkly finish (the shape, the binding, pickguard, the pickups, tremolo, funky knobs, etc.).
It's pretty much as if someone said "okay, Paul...draw up your dream guitar and we'll build it." It's frighteningly close!

makes me think someone took ideas from danelectro and harmony and made them classier.

That Kauer emblem is great! The whole guitar of course is awesome. Such great attention to detail.
