Damn, that thing blows my AV65 out of the water. I wish Fender would bring back that shade of Sherwood.

That is one gorgeous Jazzmaster!
I love that shade of Sherwood green. Normally I like matching headstocks but I never feel that Sherwood green needs one.
Also Lemmo's demo's are always a joy to watch and listen to. Such a unique player.
You can tell he owned that guitar, it's like a part of him.

Sherwood Green was so rare back then...I remember so well when these hit the market. Up to that time your only options were MIJ/CIJ or vintage.
A friend of mine had a sherwood Green one...in natural light it actually looked a bit darker than Lemo's...another friend had an Ice Blue Metallic one.
Stunning looking guitars...I'd love a Sherwood Green JM some day.

Came to see the guitar...
Stayed for the playing.
That was great

If I was a byrd, I'd be mighty sore every time they shut the door and I don't think I'd sing...

Sherwood green is so nice I can't believe Fender doesn't use it more. I picked up a CME special Sherwood green Mustang PJ bass a couple of months ago and it's really lovely. Question is, my bass came with a mint guard and I can't decide if that's the right pairing, or would pure white be better, like the Jazzmaster this thread is about.

Didn't that guy from Bush smash one of these on stage back in the day?

Re: '99 AVRI Sherwood Green JM - Normans Guitar demo
I searched high and low for a Sherwood AVRI, and it was tough.
Finally got one and had to sell it a few months later. It was so nice.
I tried to find another, when money was better, but settled for a Black with tort, which is my second favorite AVRI style.
That shade of Sherwood is greener than the recent ones, and even the vintage examples I've seen, although fading and wear changes the shade so much, it's hard to know what original Sherwood looked like.
Anyhow, I prefer this shade over all others, especially recent ones I've seen on custom shop models, which has a more earthy, mossy green.
AVRI Sherwood is a really nice and deep conifer foliage green; a proper forest green.
And yes, Gavin Rossdale wrecked his Sherwood AVRI at a show and it made me like Bush (or Bush X in Canada) even less than zero.

Re: '99 AVRI Sherwood Green JM - Normans Guitar demo
I had an AVRI Jaguar in that color. I had waited too long to get a Jazzmaster (2000?) So they were long gone, and I got a JM in Inca Silver, which I was happy with... until a Jaguar showed up in that color. I had to have it!
Lo and behold, the Jag stuck around and the JM took a trip to Oz.
Now I have a custom shop Sherwood Jag, and yes, the color is a little lighter, but it’s what I prefer. I think one of the reasons I joined OSG was because I was trying to learn more about Sherwood. So pretty much this damn paint color has shaped my destiny.

The playing in that video was really great and not what I expected after the few Mark Agnesi videos I had seen from them.
I agree about Sherwood Green shaping one's destiny. The ad for the AVRI JM in 1999 struck a chord with 13 year-old me. I had never seen such a cool guitar in my life. It set me on the path to learn about offsets, which led to me discovering bands that shaped my musical taste.
I never got an AVRI Sherwood guitar but I do have a Marauder II in a similarly dark green, which ended what felt like a 20 year-long quest.

I've said this a million times, but your CS is the sexiest Jaguar out there.Jaguar018 wrote: ↑Sun Jul 12, 2020 5:41 pmI had an AVRI Jaguar in that color. The shade of Sherwood is really good. It is still different from what I've seen recently from Fender, which looks like it has a bit of grey or blue in the mix. Either way, it looks less green than either the AVRI or your CS.

I was 18 when the AVRI line dropped and the Jaguar ads had me drooling like a dog.mbene085 wrote: ↑Sun Jul 12, 2020 5:53 pmThe playing in that video was really great and not what I expected after the few Mark Agnesi videos I had seen from them.

My father offered to get me one as a grad gift, but I chose a backpacking trip to Germany, which I would have done differently, if I could live it over again, as I ended up living in Germany for a year in 2002-2003 anyways, and have been back several times since.

Did this one already sell, I don't see it on their site?
