one of my mates in a local guitar shop hinted this was coming but i wasnt aloud to say. he knew i loved electric xii's and simply said "keep an eye out in the next few months for the return of the hockey stick"
now we know a price. im gonna be saving.
Let's get our jangle on!
I'll have you know that Robert Smith played one of these with the banshees

dude. if we ever have a jam together with out full rigs, the volume will be enough to separate scotland from the rest of the uk.

yeah. my nearest music shop keeps saying he was told they would be arriving in june and they've been pushing em back by a few weeks. apparently fender weren't expecting the guitar to be this much of a hit. in pre-sales alone, the guitar sold in less than 2 weeks. so they've been making more just so guitar shops have some to actually have on the shop floor.

Hahaha I’m glad there’s some demand for when I get it and am not satisfied with the flat 9.5” fretboard and cheap looking pau ferro wood

my big fear is it's going to be like the first few months of the squier vm series where people were buying them for £255 and then selling them on ebay for £300 that day

I haven’t been this excited about a Fender release since they brought the Jazzmaster and Jaguar back with the AVRI 62 line in 1999.
I really can’t wait to hear about people’s experience with them and to snag one myself.

Same. I probably won't be able to get one for a long while, so I hope they do more than a single limited run.

Anyone notice that the XII on Thomann's site is meant to be 622mm, or 24,5" scale?

NONONONONONONO
I hope not!
Part of what has me excited about these is the hope of a true long-scale 12- like my surfcasters. The Eastwood copies came in with a shorter scale than expected, and it made it easier to sell off- hopefully they keep it true to the XII scale length.

The scale is probably a mistake, it is very common on the Thomann site.
In the same way, Thomann announces 22 frets, and the picture shows 21 frets...

Just heard back from Fender via e-mail.
"these are indeed set to ship out in September."
So... Guitar Center said mine would ship at the end of July, Fender says they will ship in September.
oh well.

Kind of hilarious that they practically traced the bridge plate that I designed like ten years ago.
Didn't they steal your 3 Way switch plate also?
I don't recall.
