it should be a rule or something that you have to play some of Titanium Expose when trying out any Fender offset. NICE.

Re: New j. Mascis 2011???
I went here today (see the other thread for more details)

I saw this and went nuts. I embarrassed my friend. I was talking too fast to understand. "I can't believe they have it!"

It feels like a Jazzmaster! More so than a Blacktop, more so than a CP. I played this next to both of them, and an AVRI. Again, very Jazzmastery. I could see why it is cheap; the plastic parts look cheap. And the roller knobs are cast and painted, rather than machined or however they make a standard roller knob. Basically, the knurls didn't look as sharp.

The nut was a grey plastic; didn't look like faux bone or whatever. And the contours were more shallow than any of the other JMs near it. Here it is next to the AVRI

But these little cheapities aside, it was easily worth $400...
The thing is, that at the Fender Visitor Center, everything there is for sale, but they charge MSRP
I actually watched a guy pay $2400 for an AVRI Jag

That's dope! thanks for the scoop! so it feels like a JM, but even more than a CP?? why is that if it's more plasticky? always thought the cps are awesome and judging by the specs of this, basically looks like a squier remake of the CP, with cheaper appoinments...

The mascis pickups were darker sounding than the CP. I guess i could have inspected the two more closely. I mostly compared it to the BT, because the BT is closest in price. It's certainly a HELL of a lot nicer than the VM JM...

I'm a big snob so playing Sonic Youth songs on standard tuning is the devil's way of taking us through the path of wickedness. *cross arms*
That said the guitar looks great and you are a lucky sob Andrew.

am i the only one with tight pants about the shallow contours? Holding my BT where i want it to sit feels a bit like trying to hold a big bar of wet soap.
