NGD: Guild S-200 TBird

Post by Mbell75 » Thu Jul 20, 2017 10:07 am

I just can't help myself. Im a sucker for offset styled bodies and lots of switches and knobs ;D Already own a J. Mascis Jazzmaster and a Jaguar, so this fits in perfectly. Another guitar with a different scale length and capable of any tone from spank and sparkle to distortion and fuzz. Ive played an original one of these, a 1965 and this sounds every bit as good as I remember that sounding but its lighter and more comfortable, especially the neck. Taking it to rehearsal today an if It works well, I might use it as my main guitar at our show tonight!

Zal of "The Lovin' Spoonful" played one way back in the day! Funky Cool Design works & it's a Guild. I was checking them out a couple weeks ago. I dig it!!!!

Maybe it's just me, but the body shape reminds me of Raquel Welch in her prime. *dribbles slightly*

I think they look awesome, and great that you can actually afford one now. The vintage examples are ^^$$.

Congrats, I'd love one of these :-*

Man these things look awesome. It's like a Firebird and one of Bo Diddley's Gretsches had a baby and named a Jaguar the godfather.

How does it sound in person? Those "little buckers" are really interesting. In practice, did it sound similar to a Firebird, a Gibson mini-hum, or something else?

There's just no way I'm not getting one of these for the looks alone, playability and sound be damned.

Congrats, it's a cool guitar !
They have one at my local strore, I like the neck and the sound of pickups, I found the body very light weight too
