On the plus side ... the introduction of American Originals might mean that the existing AVs get blown out.

The prospect of a cheap AV65 blown out by Thomann here in europe would be nice. Nice nice nice.

Basically. A little cheaper... and the Wildwood version got a matching headstock.

I wonder where this is going to leave Wildwood. Since Fender basically took the thinskin design, maybe they can commission a special run of the AV '65?

I actually love the '58, but would want it with an actual vintage radius and frets. The '58 prototype look is right at the top of my favourite JM aesthetic schemes, right up there with CFM and LPB with mint and matching headstock.

I bet Wildwood will still be able to find special versions to offer -- different models or years or B&B or matching headstocks or different colors with extra-light bodies or whatever. (I'm GASing for one of the '72 Tele Custom Thin Skins they have right now.)

Some others listed, but these were the most offset influenced (ie, trem/pups)

Whoever's spiking the water at Fender with LSD, it was funny at first but please stop.

Unless it's really awkward to play (that trem is so close to the edge of the body) I'm going to end up with one of the JazzTele Deluxes.

I think it's hilarious. These are obviously the monthly specials for 2018. They'll probably make like 300-500 of each and then they'll be gone... one or two will end up being sought after.

A Fender dealer told me all of the specific year, AVRI-type reissues are going to Custom Shop. Now it’s just going to be “50s” and “60s” strats, Teles, etc. in the range AVRI used to be. Sort of like an American version of the Classic MIM series. I know there’s a 60s JM and Jag respectively, not sure if they’ll do 50s for either. They all have 9.5 radius necks.

Don't forget the minimal contouring and authentically reduced QC on neck pocket fit!

Will yours have a gap? Will it be slightly off-center? AV75, Authentically Inconsistent(TM).

Why must Fender put that shitty tort on everything?
