...gonna peel off the pickguard foil now
Btw, when changing the tailpiece I found more sloppy Gibson work...
Oh well...
I have one of these in Pelham Blue, same issue with finish by the neck, same fret buzz. The nut isn’t cut great on it either.
I do love mine, but the qc irritates me too.

Wow!!
Any chance of some soundbites? Would love to hear how that vibrato sounds on it, and of course the guitar itself in general!

The Les Trem looks amazing on there. Those guitars need a little something, they can look a little plain... you nailed it.
Back in those days, everyone knew that if you were talking about Destiny's Child, you were talking about Beyonce, LaTavia, LeToya, and Larry.

Yes I have one of those on my white SG and will be transplanting it onto the Firebird. Though it does get in the way a bit (and old style vibrolas look so damn cool... we'll see...)
Cool that you have the Les Trem already.
Been waiting for a Vibramate Vibrola, to come out but the image says 2010, so I think Vibramate have given up on producing one.
Would be great as they are non-invasive.
The Vibrola, Maestro, Lyre whichever name you use look great on Firebirds. Especially with all Gold hardware.. I'd like to do that to mine..

Looks super fun. How are the pickups? I really like Lollar FB’s, but haven’t had a chance to play stock Gibsons.
Stock Gibsons are not that far from Lollars at least with overdriven tones. We tested side by side two guitars on some 100W Marshall and the results were surprisingly close even though guitars were not identical. My (small luthier) custom made double cut had Lollars and my friend had 201x (2017 would be my best quess) stock reverse firebird. There was some difference, but I couldn't say that tonally I would have chosen one over the other.

That’s interesting. A number of folks have complained that newer firebirds’ pickups have been really hot. I wonder if Gibson went back to a more traditional wind.

Looks heavy. Aesthetically cool though.

Just got one of these too, also in black.
I’m going to look into getting P90’s, maestro spring vibrato and a badass bridge. May go for a refin in a custom colour eventually.

Cool. How was the setup on yours, right outta the box?
