I know fuck all about cars or fashion but always get some yuks at the references and comparisons you make and it seems like you’d have to be dead to not pick up the sense of irony with which you often post. I dunno I’m into it

I wonder if people would give a shit about a zine dedicated to guitars/amps/gear in general? I mean, I know blogs exist and every third asshole has a YouTube review channel but I know a lot of us like physical media.

We could do like, a guitar of the month thing where there’s a pretty centerfold and detailed story of the things history, and people’s art and stories about how bands formed... I mean that’s basically what this place is anyway and I’m having a hard time putting what I’m thinking into words. Fuck, hate when that happens. I like the idea of doing a weirdo diy guitar zine tho

I love how high a proportion of this thread has been about absolutely nothing to do with this guitar model. The XII thread, the Meteora HH, even the Powercaster - mostly all relevant discussion.

This thread, however, delivers the goods.

Yeah, wtf, I thought this was a threat about Chappers having the charisma of someone who's just eaten fresh dog shit and still has it in his teeth.
This is an excellent rectangle

Would you oil up? I'd be worried your fretboard is dry.

Are you talking of holding the guitar in that shirtless man with baby style that was popular in the 80's.

I can just picture you holding a Fender Lead or a Gibson Sonex in a similar tender and yet masculine manner.

Exactly, I'll take my shirt off, shave my chest, get some kind of spend a couple of weeks in the tanning salon to get some of the midwest winter off me, at which time I will allow myself to be photographed holding the "Fender Alternate Reality Sixty-Six" in a tough yet sensitive manner for the 'zine.

Happy, Mike? The thread is back on track.

Only if it includes a quote from you about how the Sixty-Six represents the kind of design innovation you've been hoping to see from Fender for years. We can tie it in to the theme by having you say it's the birth of a new era for Fender, and indeed for guitar music in general.

The more veins the better I always say.

I played a couple of these unplugged in a shop yesterday. QC seemed ok. They played fine, but are definitely small...kind of made me wish for 24" scale. You'd be hard-pressed for space to get a JM trem on one, but I wonder if a Mustang unit would fit.

They had a new CV Mustang in there too with a really nice feeling neck.
