No, Thomann announces the Pelham Blue "Usually available within 7-8 weeks", and the Olympic White and Sunburst are always "Pre-Order Now" (I'm waiting for an Olympic White).
Everyone is still on vacation I think.

the guitar shop i plan on buying one of these from says the date keeps getting pushed back. i asked a fender rep and he said they didnt expect so many people wanting one.

I'm personally a bit irritated that they haven't done anything to compensate preorder customers. If they're holding off preorders in order to make more to put on the shelves, why did I preorder my guitar in the first place? There was no warning about the date possibly being pushed back when I made my purchase, I was expecting my guitar to arrive in July. The only email I recieved about it didn't have an explanation attached, and when I asked for a specific reason I was told "we don't give insider details to customers". I made my preorder in April. I felt like July was a long enough wait..

I pre-ordered mine in May. Here in Australia it takes forever to get new models in, so at the time I was told that even though the ARXII was supposed to be released in July, it would be more like late August and because the first round of pre-orders (for that shop) were already full, I would probably see my guitar in September. When I heard about the delays I went and talked to my guitar shop again, they went to the bother of calling the distributor for me who told them "probably October". Now that there seems to be even more delays, I'm beginning to think I might not even have mine by Christmas

I imported my EOB Strat directly from the US. It was 6 months (I think) after it's release and Australian shops still didn't have them in. I just got tired of waiting. I had to find a dodgy Fender dealer who was willing to break the rules and send a new one internationally. It worked out pretty well, because even with import duty it was cheaper than what I'd have to pay with our ridiculous mark up prices in a shop here in Australia.

I often wonder how Fender figure out what models to make next, because they either seem to pump out unpopular duds, or are short of units to fill demand.

there is a common thing in modern business where it can be more profitable to make a few unpopular products and then write them off as a failure if made in small numbers. i think they were expecting the xii to be one of those. which probably means it's a case where the instrument might actually cost more to make than they're selling it for.

honestly. the fender rep i spoke to was just like "this has been happening a lot lately. fender have been undercutting some products while over estimating others"

Hi guys, I joined this forum just for this thread. I have pre ordered the electric xii last month from Dawsons in the UK.
Theres no information anywhere on the web about this. Im begining to think this is going to be a long wait?
Dawson's are guessing about delivery.

Just a little bit of clarification, when I said yesterday that Thomann is advertising the Pelham Blue "Usually available within 7-8 weeks", it's been 4 weeks since they announced that, so the date goes back a week every week ...

Ive never pre ordered a Fender before, has anyone seen this before?

This happens regularly from my understanding. Last year it happened with the 60th anniversary jazz masters as well.

It did not happen with Vintera I think because that’s a whole new line that they probably figure to produce for some years.

Fender and Guitar Center have both told me mid September. Chicago Music Exchange told a friend of mine late September.
