For sure that's a fantastic colour.

I'm guessing the MIM re-issue won't look any better than this.
There's an MIM reissue?!?? Tell me more!

There were some leaked pics from the 2017 NAMM show. That's all I know. They might not even reissue it.

Aw I've seen that (though it was Fender's new Hollywood office, not NAMM), I thought* you had new information!

Interestingly, if you look through those photos, you can see a Powercaster prototype 2 years before it was released. So I'm still holding out hope.

*Well, hoped

Keep holding out hope we’ll get Ali Travis Bean copies but every month that I go look it’s never a thing.

Though I have seen Dan Armstrong Lucite copies and would probably be into owning one. An aluminum neck is probably just too expensive to make it worth buying one let alone any of those manufacturers trying to build them.
Best just saving up for the real thing or an egc. I doubt anyone would bother making them neckthrough and both the bean and egc pickups are custom built and huge parts of the sound.

I just want an aluminum
Neck guitar but will never ever be able to afford a Bean. EGC is more affordable for sure but still more than I’d probably ever be able to afford. I saw where they started making the Dan Armstrong copies and thought that was cool.

I think if I ever end up with anything like this it’ll be one of the T-60 w/ EGC neck mashup deals. Could swing that for maybe under a grand.

Sorry if I missed it elsewhere, but do you know if the stock Mustang plate will fit (given the modified body curve?) I think a new plate is a good idea, even aside from appearing to be made of plastic - the existing plate looks a little uh how do I put it - *turned on* .

As someone who owns multiple Aluminum neck guitars you really DO NOT want to cheap out on them. The EGC/T60 mashups are cool but you're really limiting yourself with just that combo when you could put a regular bolt-on on literally any kind of guitar, I bought an EGC bolt-on and stuck it on a Jazzmaster and it turned out awesome http://www.offsetguitars.com/forums/vie ... p?t=110415

Where are you based? There's a few non-EGC builders making awesome neck-through guitars for a third of the price.

So, its an ok guitar. Would I get it again? Probably not.

Id save my money and put it towards a Vintera. That's good value for the money.

Btw, the control plate is not even close in size to a real Mustang plate. . The Yangstang's plate is like 33% bigger.

The setup was awful. I set the trem up and put a shim. Plays better.

Something like this might fit it.
It says it's for a Mustang bass but I reckon it's actually the same as the Marauder reissue.

Trib9 do you have a jagstang to compare it too? Do you think its comparable to a Squier Mustang in quality at least?

Disappointed (but can't really say I'm too surprised) to hear it wasn't the bargain of the century super guitar that I hoped it would be.

I guess I'll save my pennies and keep looking for Powercasters.

Fender really should do a reissue Jag-stang.

Thx, but im just going to sell it locally for like half the price. Its not a bad guitar but, ill just move it and put the money towards a Vintera.

That’s a shame. I’ve often considered an Ali Express l/h Tele Deluxe type guitar. These stories put me off risking my £200 or so.
