I only have one electric guitar at the moment, and it's a Jazzmaster (kinda) http://www.offsetguitars.com/forums/vie ... p?t=110415 I tend to only really ever have one electric guitar at a time, it's kind've stupid though as I gig a lot so need a backup. I've got an EGC Tyranny on order though so that should be coming in a couple of months, after that I'm all set for good hopefully. Although a Bass would be nice to have around for recording.

Every second you spend shopping for guitars is time you could've used for playing guitar.
You underestimate how much guitar shopping (or browsing to be more accurate) one can do while at work in certain lines of work

Most people have some kind of Vice that they spend money on... Booze, Cigarettes, Drugs, Hookers, Boats, etc.

I admit I'm a Guitaraholic! I have 0 interest of ever being a 1 Electric Guitar Guy.... But, if I had to choose one, it would be my Vintage Sunburst 50th Anniv. 1961 RI Epiphone Casino w/Tremotone.

I can't play guitar while I'm ...taking a dump....
You haven't lived

:squint: :squint: :squint:
Well I know what I'm doing tomorrow...

But to get back on the subject, my first guitar was a Squier Tele that I got from my parents which was all I had for many years until I saved up for my Squier JMJM in college, at which point I all but stopped playing the Tele. So that was all I had for the next 5 or 6 years or so.

And then last year I built a partscaster and now I'm thinking of buying another Jazzmaster :squint: .

In all honesty having multiple guitars doesn't really suit me, I've never been able to get into buying and selling instruments because I get too attached, and I always feel guilty when one of my guitars doesn't get played enough. So I know these things are always just going to accumulate.

I thought about doing that. Got down to 2 electrics from 12. I thought I had all the bases covered witha strat, an offset with humbuckers (Ibanez Jet King 2), an acoustic and a bass but now I'm looking at getting an EOB strat. The pickup options on it are enough to justify a another strat and 5 instruments sounds like a good number. Plus, a white strat with a maple neck is a thing of beauty.

Gross. Don't talk about Strats here.

Alright, back to playing guitar while pooping...

Seriously, though... My first guitar was a 1995 MIM Stratocaster. It was the only electric I had for almost 10 years, having bought an acoustic to go along with it during my college years.

I moved around a bit and didn't have anyone to play music with and kind of lost touch with playing. Several years ago I decided to get back into it. But, I had a problem... I. Fucking. Hated. That. Stratocaster. Hated. Hated. Hated.

I bought a Liquid from Rondo Music with P90s and a Squier VMJM and they both opened my eyes to how different guitars can sound, and elicit different writing styles, etc. Around the same time I actually started making money with my career. Then I developed a different problem. I can no longer imagine owning one electric guitar.

I should come clean and admit that i do in fact own a bass, although it barely ever sees the light of day (for good reason, I suck even more at bass)

I have had the pleasure to play an acoustic on the toilet before, and I highly recommend the experience. There is something so right and wrong at the same time, tears up your inside.

In all seriousness, I hope this thread doesn't come off as condescending. I love guitar collecting, and if you're gonna have a habit of buying something, I think guitars is one of the best thing to have fun with.

Yeah. I try to compartmentalize the playing and hoarding aspects. In my band I play the same guitar for the whole set (unless I break a string) and have a pretty simple pedal and amp setup for live use.

I have just one: a CP Jaguar that my wife and son just gave me for my 50th.

My son's also good about sharing his Tele and SG with me, so not sure if that counts. In any event, I channel any GAS I have through him, as he's the real talent in the family.

For a long time I just had my black AVRI Jazzmaster. She was a beauty and near perfect.

When I started my last album I wanted another Jazzy with different pickups for tone variety, so I got the Mystic Seafoam AMPRO. Loved it so much more than the AVRI so I sold it for a OTM American original. Now I feel like I have a perfect set.

If I had to keep one it’d be the AO. Best guitar I’ve ever owned.

For years I only had my modded ‘97 CIJ Jazzmaster and a 1960 Gibson L series acoustic. At some point in 2015 I wanted to try a Jaguar so I bought a VM Jag real cheap and things spiraled out of control from there. Now I have two Jags and three Jazzys. I only feel bad about the two Jags because although they look different they are ostensibly the same inside and sound identical to each other. All of the Jazzmasters have different necks, different pickups, etc. and sound fairly different which is real useful in the studio.
