Fender Vintera line?

Over on Talkbass there's a thread about the launch of the so-called Fender Vintera line. Lots of dead links and random weirdness, and it appears the line may not be for the U.S. market. The only reason why I'm interested at all is because it appears to have a proper spec Mustang bass. Anybody know about this?

With both this and the Squier Starcaster leak, it would appear there will be several interesting announcements coming at Summer NAMM.

Maybe Vintera is replacing their "Classic" series guitars, which are already confusing because Classic Player exists - those two series are nothing alike! In other words, maybe this is the new name for their MIM vintage-accurate series.

The one thing that's weird to me is that Fender dropped their purely vintage guitars in the American line when they went from the AVRI to the American Original series - basically vintage enough but with the 'right' modern modifications. This Vintera line seems to be sticking to the true vintage specs, and I don't think that's what most players want. Hell, I bought a Squier 72 Thinline Tele instead of a used Fender 72 Thinline because I didn't want a 7.25" radius and vintage frets - the price difference was negligible. If you look at the popular Wildwood Thinskin guitars, they don't even mess with 7.25" radius necks. I think most custom shop vintage reissues also have the 9.5" radius and some sort of larger frets.
Are there that many people that prefer 7.25" and vintage frets? Am I off base here?

Yes, you are. I absolutely don't want larger frets.
Radius I don't care about (or even notice after 10 seconds playing) provided I can get along with the overall width/profile.
