aside from the obv specs, what was different in the affinity model compared to the CV that wasn't as impressive? I am interested in the affinity for some mod ideas, but I'd spring for the CV if $100 makes that much of a difference.Debaser wrote: ↑Mon Jul 22, 2019 6:35 pmMind sharing your impression of the CV Starcaster neck? Vintera felt like I was playing an American standard model, not a MIM. I don’t say that lightly either, I’m not one of those guys who thinks MIM models smoke their US counterparts but in this case it’s very close!
The Starcasters are great. CV model is beautiful, well built and plays like a dream. Affinity models felt good in my hands but were not impressive. They will be great for younger players who want some variety though. Didn’t plug in, so no word on the new WRHB, sorry!
My wife fell in love with the new Malibu Player acoustic and wouldn’t put it down for like 20 minutes, that was a first! Will be picking up one of those shortly haha

Hmmm my memory isn't fantastic but it was not Mustang thin or a Sheraton-like baseball bat. It was substantial and comfortable, very middle of the road. Reminded me a LOT of my Classic Player 50s Tele neck (in a good way) but with modern fret size/radius. Same level of gloss as well. I fucking love gloss though, which puts me in the minority, so keep that in mind hahaDebaser wrote: ↑Mon Jul 22, 2019 6:35 pmMind sharing your impression of the CV Starcaster neck? Thin? That's an easy one, two things right off the bat: the lack of headstock stripe and the lack of f-hole binding. The finish on the f holes was sloppy. Also, it had that standard white-sand Affinity neck, and I love a nice tinted gloss. It was nice for an Affinity, but for $100 it's a no brainer to go up to the CV. Also, covered 'WRHB' vs the black humbuckers...no brainer once again.RuffiansFC wrote: ↑Tue Jul 23, 2019 5:31 amaside from the obv specs, what was different in the affinity model compared to the CV that wasn't as impressive? I really like this finish for the Jaguar bass.

I'll be that guy.
Yes, Sage Green is one of the best colors Fender has done, which is amazing considering how few instruments were made with it. They're weird like that.
So, this is a thread about Summer NAMM releases of 2019, and the Player Series Jaguar, and it's Sage Green finish, was announced last year at Summer NAMM 2018.
Admittedly the threads here can go way off track (Exhibit A: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=111138&start=105 ) but it seemed like your post just landed someplace you didn't mean for it to. If you did, that's cool, too.
I'm sure some Fender dealer in '64 looked at the new Duo-Sonic II and thought, "That's not a Duo-Sonic. That's a Mustang".

I saw it with the newer colors. Unacceptable mistake.

And I just realized you've been on this board 3 years longer than me. I'll show myself out.
