New 2019 Fender Player Series Jazzmaster Colours
Probably already mentioned here but this popped up in my Reverb feed, Capri Orange on a Jazzmaster is an interesting choice. It'd look great with a parchment guard and chrome covered humbuckers I think.

I’m still really curious about the single coil version of the player Jazzmaster .
They didN’t talk about it at Summer Namm ?
Is the model exclusive to CME ?
I’d see a similar model with classsic player style pickups available everywhere in other colors .

Man, that black guard is hideous and makes it look like a Halloween decoration.X-Ray Spex wrote: ↑Thu Jul 25, 2019 3:43 amProbably already mentioned here but this popped up in my Reverb feed, Capri Orange on a Jazzmaster is an interesting choice. Parchment with chrome buckers could work, as could MOP. It worked on the Toronado:

CME's Reverb page for it says, literally, "CME Exclusive". I'm interested in it, too. How CME got to do this is beyond me. Also, I'm curious how long it will be available beyond September.pikmin wrote: ↑Thu Jul 25, 2019 4:04 amI’m still really curious about the single coil version of the player Jazzmaster .

I'm sure some Fender dealer in '64 looked at the new Duo-Sonic II and thought, "That's not a Duo-Sonic. That's a Mustang".

CME is one of the biggest non-GC/MF/Sweetwater music retailers in America, and have a huge online sales presence. They do more than enough volume to do limited runs with Fender. I would guess Fender only requires a 50-100 guitar minimum for special runs.vistavision wrote: ↑Thu Jul 25, 2019 9:24 amCME's Reverb page for it says, literally, "CME Exclusive". Well, usually it's been Wildwood with their Thin Skins on the smaller end of the retail spectrum and GC/SW on the other end getting truckloads of MIM FSRs and whatnot. CME is kind of in the upper-middle and I can't remember (or wasn't aware of) an exclusive MIM run like that in the past. If it's a new thing Fender is doing and will do with other retailers of CME's size, then cool. CME isn't as big as the upper tier companies, but their cachet with certain buyer demographics is probably pretty solid and that's what Fender is trying to reach and they can't do it with the knuckle-draggers at GC. I guess it's like when Pro Guitar Shop was getting special runs of pedals from major companies.alexpigment wrote: ↑Thu Jul 25, 2019 12:24 pmCME is one of the biggest non-GC/MF/Sweetwater music retailers in America, and have a huge online sales presence. Addenda!
I totally forgot CME had the exclusive Fender Offset Series Mustang in Mocha because, well, I'm old and forget shit. Maybe because it was a lower model that I didn't think of it as weird and out-of-place. And I want that one, too. Ugh.

CME has been doing exclusive Fender colors for quite a while - most of them fairly droolworthy. I will admit, though, that this player series JM seems quite a bit more customized than normal.

Didn't they have that American Professional Offset Telecaster 2 years ago?

CME also shares ownership w/ Reverb.com so even if the store's volume isn't as high as sweetwater's or guitar center's, there's certainly value in staying on pleasant terms.

Re: New 2019 Fender Player Series Jazzmaster Colours
CME has exclusive ES-335s, Les Pauls and SGs from Gibson, Reverends, and quite a few different Fenders at different price ranges up to Custom Shop. They're kind of a big deal.
I was at their store a few weeks ago due to a work trip because they carry some weirder guitars (like Rivoltas) that are hard to find anywhere near me physically. It's the best store I've ever been in, by a mile. Not only do they just have walls upon walls of guitars (they have an entire wall of Gibson Les Pauls, not my thing but man), but they have multiple rooms with amps to go try them in, and the staff is amazing. They don't carry many shredder guitars, but if you're into more traditional designs they have an insane selection in store and a warehouse to pull from as well. I ended up buying a Music Man Stingray after leaving their store (didn't make it a week, I was obsessed). I've never picked up a guitar and been obsessed like that, but their wide selection of things to play (even offsets) immediately was incredible. I may have never played an EBMM if it wasn't for them.
I live near Wildwood (about 15 minutes away), and they're great people, but the showroom situation is basically zero. There's a tiny storefront with a couple of amp rooms that are hard to get into because the place is busy and tiny. You can get anything in the warehouse, but there are maybe 50 guitars in the wall in the store. And if you want to play something under $1,000 (much less $2,000), there aren't many.
Also note that they do own Reverb but are selling it to Etsy.
