I'm a fan of the VMods for the JM too. The neck is great, the bridge is good, but both together is more than the sum of its parts. Honestly, they're arguably the best deal going on JM pickups. And I'd say anyone calling them stratlike needs their ears checked. MIJ, yeah. Not these.

Edit: I'm smoking crack and thinking of VMJM pickups, which are more than just good for the price.

Structurally V-mods do seem like MIJ. Soundwise ? ... YMMV.

Whoooooooooooo, those look NOTHING like the Vmods I've got lying around. That's pretty interesting. I wonder if they changed the formula later on, mine are pretty early ones. Or maybe there's just a lot of variation?

Edit: Am I way off base here? Are "VMods" not the pickups from the "Vintage Modified" line? Because if some of us are thinking that, not realizing that it's a new pickup entirely, then forget what I said.

V-Mod pickups are not the VMJM's. The V-Mods are only in the Am Pro AFAIK*. Or after-market as p/n 0992270000 ...

Oh, OK. Well, I have nothing to contribute here since I've never played them. Mea culpa!

Get VMJM pickups on the cheap, there that's my contribution.

Is there anyone who could post up a comparison between AV65s, VMods and Strat pups?
