... and I just went and spent all my money in search of a good Fender three weeks ago. Man. I'd like to at least have tried these before.

Re: Fender American Ultra Jazzmaster
I can see this guitar working well for some styles of music, but from those demos i think it’s a little too sterile sounding for the dirty rock and roll that I’m into. The series-parallel switch is good, but the phase switch would be of limited use.

Re: Fender American Ultra Jazzmaster
Interestingly Fender chose a heavier player with more dirt for their own demo ultra JM artist. Maybe trying to convince that market ...

My first new guitar for 2020... CHANGE MY MIND?
I was potentially going to do a Mustang bass in a similar colour, I might have to change to some other colour.

I think they've not made a Jaguar as the Marr stands in the way at this price point - either it or the ultra would suffer, I suppose. This looks like a Marr Jazzmaster in some ways, I think.

Watched a number of Ultra videos, and the Mocha JM still stands out to me. Would like to see some reviews with the Ultraburst to see what it looks like apart from in the pics. But the Mocha really catches my eye.

Yeah, I'm into it. I am still on board and hope that Fender sells these pickups at some point. I really don't need a third Jazzmaster or anything.soggy mittens wrote: ↑Tue Nov 05, 2019 11:51 pmSaw Andy's reverb video with these this morning and the Jazzmaster and Tele both sound amazing, kinda makes me wish I had monies. xD

It does sound really nice in that demo.DrPete wrote: ↑Tue Nov 05, 2019 12:37 pmI spent the day bitchin' about how uninspiring the Strat and Teles (and even the Jazzmasters were) on the new Ultra line.
Then I watched theJM Fender video - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gHv5hmKZ62g - and I've been totally suckered in.
The Mocha finish is gorgeous, the noiseless pickups are tempting, the compound neck appeals to my fuzz soloing, the binding is beautiful, the tele knobs are cool, the bridge looks neat, and the switching and phasing brings it up to date.
I think it's amazing.
If the case is of my liking, i.e., not too modern, then I might have to have a serious conversation with myself come the Holidays!

Re: Fender American Ultra Jazzmaster
I'd be kind of annoyed if they sold the pickups separately as I just dropped cash on a set of novaks, but maybe down the road I'd still get a set if I ever developed enough of an ear to decipher that my novaks dont sound jazzmastery enough. I would guess these would be available to buy separately at some point considering all the other noiseless ones are.

You know what, I think this is actually a great product offering at the higher end of things. I'd seriously consider if I didn't already have a bunch of offsets I didn't play.

Okay, that is pretty sick. Then I watched theJM Fender video - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gHv5hmKZ62g - and I've been totally suckered in.
If I was in the budget range to get the nuke-clown-burst one, send the ash body off to be stripped and refinned in trans white, while the neck’s being refretted in stainless with an LSR nut fitted, and Mastery bridge and trem in the mail, maybe.
But that would just be silly.
