Fender Select Carved Maple Top Jazzmaster

It's not very Jazzmastery but feels wonderful to play! I actually really like the WRHB and the neck is a thing of beauty to behold! Best fender neck I have ever owned!

I have been checking that one out for years. Every once in a while they show up on CL, but it was more than I wanted to spend. One of these days I just might. I have WRHB on a MIM tele, and it was my touring guitar for years. Those pickups work for me. Also, I have a channel bound strat and channel bound tele, so I know that neck. Best neck ever, especially with a compound radius. Congrats. That is a beauty.

I agree that the channel-bound necks are sublime, but I don't think these are actually WRHBs (and even then, Fender's "actual WRHBs" aren't actually WRHBs) - they look PAF-sized with Fender's "2+1" screw mount in regular pickup rings. They just have the 3+3 screws and covers, like they had on the Pawn Shop Mustang Specials at the time (not saying they're the same pickup inside, just that they're clearly the same covers and baseplate):

Cool guitar, and certainty with some idiosyncracies. The carved top's "WRHBs" are listed as 0096284000 / 0096283000 ...
http://www.fmicassets.com/Damroot/Origi ... A_SISD.pdf

They are indeed regular sized HBs, but do include the 'WR' designation ...
PICKUP ASSY TWIN HEAD WR BRIDGE
PICKUP ASSY TWIN HEAD WR NECK

The carved top could be the only guitar that has those exact 'WR' HBs. They look a little weird underneath, with a quick-connect system ...

The Pawn Shop Mustangs could be the same pickup under the hood but the backs are different (maybe just lacking the quick-connect system ?) ....
