Thanks, man! I feel like I remember you building that. Did you post pics of it? Maybe it was someone else but I remember a tele xii being mentioned or shown here. What was wrong with it? Even though I have a fake Fender XII, I still kind of want a Strat XII. I just like 12 strings. I've heard they're super narrow at the nut. I've considered just building one.baseggio wrote: ↑Thu Nov 07, 2019 7:21 amMan, N0_Camping4U, that's a beauty right there.
Last year, I bought the Strat XII, thinking they'd never do an Electric XII. Hpoefully the trend keeps up and they'll do a Tele XII next year. The one I put together many years ago has issues, and I'm really loving the Electric XII over it.

You can easily build one now that all of the parts are available. Stratosphere will have a body, Warmoth will do a neck, all other parts are available on the reissue. MJT can repaint it. You'll end up saving more than 7,000 bucks rolling your own.

The reversed headstock actually makes more sense to me design-wise, since the direction of the body is also pointing upwards.
I do not like the swamp salami colour combo though.

Maybe it isn't the prettiest of torts, but I think it suits the green perfectly...

Re: Fender Custom Shop Electric XII
I don't think I posted my Tele XII here, but I did over at TDPRI. There was nothing wrong with the Strat XII per se, but I've been kind of off Strats lately. It sounds nice enough and it was really light. But the 7.25" radius is kind of cramped. Mostly, I just really wanted an Electric XII and finances and space don't let me have 3 12 string electrics.N0_Camping4U wrote: ↑Thu Nov 07, 2019 9:24 amThanks, man! He's made another

also I was chatting with him on that posting, and he said these guitars didn't have quite enough break angle, and to get rid of some of the string buzzing issues, that he cut his with extra break angle. So for a vintage xii, it might be advisable to use a shim in the neck pocket. I think I'm gonna try it.
