NEW Fender Swingers from Fender Japan!!!
Something new once again from Fender Japan but this time it isn't just a new colour or some strange pickup config...
The Swinger was originally an attempt by CBS (which had bought the company in 1965) to extract cash from inventory by combining unused bodies from the failed Fender Bass V with parts from the Fender Musicmaster.
They feature a 24" scale, and a single mustang pickup in the neck (much like a Musicmaster)
I think personally this is a great sign of things to come from fender and their limited runs.
Here's hoping we see another Bass VI reissue or maybe a reissue of the Fender Maverick

Re: NEW Fender Swingers from Fender Japan!!!
Very interesting, and surprising. I think it’s great - the swinger body shape is really cool (the headstock not so much). Alder would have been preferable, but i’m sure they will be nice guitars anyway.

Re: NEW Fender Swingers from Fender Japan!!!
I get how its not necessarily for everyone (myself included) but I really appreciate Fender keeping it true to the original since, to my knowledge, there aren't any other reissues other than these

Unless you count that small Eastwood run from a while back. I think 2017?
