Not a guitar, but Apogee just revealed the Symphony Desktop, which is the best price point they've ever produced for this number of inputs and outputs (10x14), along with some sort of new hybrid analogue/DSP mic preamp emulation. It's also super compact for its feature set.
I like it.

I agree here. I do think the Chinese quality is pretty decent lately, but have a hard time supporting them as a country. Sometimes it's unavoidable, but where there's other options I'll always chose other. Although Indonesia has its own issues, it doesn't have the influence on the world China has/is looking to have.Lamar Fandango wrote: ↑Thu Jan 16, 2020 7:26 amWas gassing for a Squier Super Sonic until I saw that they will be made in China. Darn it!!

Small observation: I'm glad the Offset Series was folded into the Player Series so that the Duo-Sonics*, Mustangs, & Lead models all hang out at the $599 range together. I hope that FMIC executive gets a hearty handshake and a pat on the back.
* And also because the Duo-Sonics weren't really offsets, dammit.

I'm sure some Fender dealer in '64 looked at the new Duo-Sonic II and thought, "That's not a Duo-Sonic. That's a Mustang".

My hope now is that the reissues push the vintage supersonics back into reasonable pricing territory.

Re: What’s Coming Down the Pike at NAMM?
Rant maybe only I will care about: So I got the email today from Guitar Center; pre-order a 'Fullerton Series Ukulele' for $200 . BTW, I might still do just that. But...Stephen_42 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 16, 2020 7:38 amAn interesting thing to note on these is the Jazzmaster decal with the fancy bits on the side. It's also on the Strat and Tele version as well, and the decal looks a bit haphazardly slapped on on those two. Seems to be a rare example of the offset being the main plan and the Strat / Tele being an afterthought!
My first instinct was to think: "Oh. Fullerton Series- so they're US-made?" I then remembered that (unless they contracted G&L to do these,) Fender doesn't make guitars in Fullerton any more. Sure, Corona isn't as glamorous but moving across the county line was their choice. Still trying to find out where they *do* make these, still think they're cool, but it's sort of un-cool to use the name Fullerton, and imply these guitars (probably made in Indonesia/China, still not clear but definitely not Fullerton) have anything to do with that. Guess I'm just too dyed-in-wool OC We have enough problems with people thinking we're LA, let-alone mistaking us for China.
As far as 'regular' mode being Jazzmaster here- maybe Fender finally caught on the the Jazzmaster body is just much more attractive to anyone, except for guitar players who were introduced to Strats as a default. I get behind that

King Buzzo: I love when people come up to me and say “Your guitar sound was better on Stoner Witch, when you used a Les Paul. “...I used a Fender Mustang reissue on that, dumbass!
