Bass VI guitar cases
Does anyone know if there are cheaper guitar cases available for the Bass VI? Fender cases are around $250 and I know I sound cheap, but I have a hard time shelling out that much for a case for a guitar that I paid $300 for...

Re: Bass VI guitar cases
I’ve got mine in a Gator GC-BASS case.
Fits really well - a little longer at the headstock than is necessary (because it’s designed for a full-scale bass), but most importantly the body fits snug in the lower section and the neck is well supported, so the guitar doesn’t slop around while being carried.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for the suggestion... I can't believe I've had my VM Bass VI almost 5 years and I never considered a bass guitar caseJVG wrote: ↑Sun Jan 26, 2020 4:49 amI’ve got mine in a Gator GC-BASS case.

Re: Bass VI guitar cases
Haha. I can understand that! I don’t think of my VI as either a bass or a guitar - it lives in its own category!
I can’t say whether other bass cases will be suitable, but the Gator one certainly is. The clincher for me was that it’s internally symmetrical, so it fits my lefty VI. (Many cases are constructed to house only right-handers.)
Cheers

EDIT: now i think of it, i did have to squash up the case padding a little bit around the strap pin on the upper horn, when first fitting the VI in, as it was a tight fit. Subsequently, though, it fit like a glove.

Re: Bass VI guitar cases
I recommend shelling out for the C&G case. My PS VI lives in the brown tolex variety. Good protection for your current VI that you may wish to dump for a higher-end VI down the road. If you do, just snag a gig bag for 35 bucks to send the old VI on its way.
