That guitar reminds me of some you see in 'memorabilia' shops in Las Vegas - a guitar in a big expensive glass frame with a glossy signed photo of some famous guitarist for your 'man cave' .... but where the (cheap) guitar is totally wrong for the guitarist. Like you'd get an Angus Young pic paired with a shiny Squier strat. There were lots of these, and I think almost every one I saw was wrong, to anyone with any knowledge of the guitarist. Basically for people with money but no clue.
I liked the first DS album, but can't stand Knopfler's later work. Was the closest he got to an offset the Grosh Electrajet ? ....

Mark Knpfler does like his guitars.
If you get on youtube there will be a few where he is talking guitars.
And then there is this
And this video
Mark Knopfler - True Love Will Never Fade
Give the man some credit, not everyone plays a Spectrum 5
(disappointed he is not playing it in stereo tho' )

Given the Chinese fakery of the object itself, I always wonder about the authenticity of the signatures in cases like this.

I'll probably never really get into Dire Straits or Knopfler, but they've always been around (especially because I grew up in the North East of England, which is where he came from) and I do think some of it's pretty good. Some of his later solo work sounds quite nice to me too.
I watched this documentary recently and really enjoyed it more than I thought I would: https://youtu.be/27OT_FSWrIE
If you scrub forward to 24:00 he plays what in my teenage years I would have considered one of the cheesiest riffs of all time, but when it's deconstructed like that I hear the genius in it.

My favorite guitarist of all time. Just incredibly tasteful. What he lacks in the fashion department is more than made up for by those three fingers on his right hand and the wonderful songwriting.
Even with that, I still don't think I want that guitar for free.
