The blue is very nice, but this is by far my favorite color showing in the at-home pics.

Time to sell some stuff . . .

Love the Fiesta Red and mint guard! Lovely guitar.

(Just a bit of info, I had asked Sweetwater if they would carry the Red, and my dude called back to say it's a Fender factory exclusive, which I interpreted to mean, only the Fender website carries it in the US.)

Trogly's video
Looks like the pickups have a bar magnet or something?
He takes the pups out but doesn’t remove the foam so it’s hard to see what it is.

It sounds nice and really looks great.
Yeah, what's going on those bar magnets?? I kinda thought they would be the same as what's in the Classic Vibe JMs...
I have a 40th Anniv. Jazz Master and find those pickups relatively decent-sounding, but they are certainly not what I see in the Trogly video.

They look similar to the pickups in the Affinity Jazzmaster. I wonder if they just pulled them from there, since both are made in China?

I picked up one of these in LPB. I happened to go into a shop that had one and it followed me home after about 5 minutes of playing :-*

This is a really solid guitar, similar in quality to my JMJM. I have absolutely no issues with the fit and finish.

As others have noted, the pickups are HOT. I dropped mine to about 1/16" from the body and that helped . It's a tradeoff in getting them to sound reasonable with my setup vs. losing some of the clarity in the chime of the unison strings. I'm sure I will continue to fiddle with this. I am dreaming of a replacement pickguard routed for the original XII pickups. I'm sure that would mean routing the body a little deeper to accommodate them.

The neck is almost surprisingly thin. I've gotten used to a chunky Tele neck in recent months...this took some getting used to, but it's perfectly fine.

Do it bud!
Been waiting for some cool Squier XII / Fender style conversions to pop up on here..
Ive done it with a squier Affinity which im "guessing" has similar routing.
Drill allong line n chisel out the block, came out in one piece for me then a little smoothing with a drill/grinder bit.

May need to grind deeper if using Vintage or Curtis Novak XII Pups due to long slugs.

So... Yes, I have a bit of a XII problem:

All 3 colors on this one, and I heard some innernet buzz about a possible Shell Pink option?

What am I going to do with a fouth one?

I've been so impressed with mine that I've been considering getting another to play as a 6 string. The pickups are actually pretty nice once they get adjusted.

I bought an Olympic white Jazzmaster XXII from GC and I have been fine tuning the setup. I could not get the action as low as I wanted and the individual bridges were bottomed out to the plate. So I ordered some maple shims from Amazon for $12. There are 3 sizes; 1 degree, .5 and .25. I started with the biggest (1) and ended up with the smallest (.25) which worked perfect. Just be aware that you only have so much adjustment of the bridge heights because of the limited length of the set screws. Now I have the setup the way I like it and it plays great. I have a set of 65 Pure Vintage Fender Jazzmaster pickups arriving in a couple of days. I'm hoping I'll hear a difference. The bridge pickup has a lot of output and in the middle position is not well balanced with the neck pickup. I tried lowering the bridge pickup which definitely helped. I'm super happy with the guitar. I've wanted a Ric for a long time but could never play one because of the narrow neck. The Jazzmaster XXII plays just like a Fender and I'm not muting adjacent string when I chord. I like the Jazzmaster XXII so much I ordered a Fiesta red one on the Fender website. I'm not sure why I need two 12 string guitars but I couldn't pass it up.

I've just tried it at a shop. Very cool xii, I got it, in olympic white.

Very close to the fender alternate reality xii (I'd say it's nicer, my fender was noisy!), half the price :-*

My first post here! (Been lurking every so often for years now.)

Those of you with the Fiesta Red versions...what sort of weights are you getting?

Thanks!

Played one today, so color me intrigued. I didn’t get much time to fool with it, though.

It felt a lot like my old Electric XII, but the finish is much thicker on the new guitar. Nothing a little Brillo pad and elbow grease wouldn’t fix up. The vintage neck was the best playing 12 string neck I’ve ever wrapped my hand around.

I always believed the pickups were the weak spot of the vintage XII. Jazzmaster pickups bring a lot more character to the sound. I’ll be keeping my eye on this.
