Re: Squier Paranormal Jazzmaster XII
This is the second video I see, the 1st being Alamo Music .... I really, really like the distortion tones of the 12 string. They sound like nothing else out there. (Almost like a tube amp harmonics on steroids. Nice, mid solid tones, like a wooden bat hitting a fast ball out of the stadium ....)
Very nice guitar. Great price. (I'm begining to understand why Jimmy Paige favoured 12s with LedZep. Like their acoustic counterparts, they have a HUGE sound.)

Looks like the pickups have a bar magnet or something?
He takes the pups out but doesn’t remove the foam so it’s hard to see what it is.
It sounds nice and really looks great.

Re: Squier Paranormal Jazzmaster XII
My white one came in last week - been playing it a decent amount between family, job, and Diablo IV duties...
It's frikkin' GREAT. Somehow it actually outshines my Fender ARXIIs, but that may just be the shiny newness of it.
BEST BARGAIN XII OUT THERE. Local mom&pop shop gave me their Dads & Grads special on them, and included a FREE SETUP by my usual tech. ALL IN FOR UNDER $400.
I have a LPB one on the way (ETA July 1ish) and a standing order with the shop to get any other colors that may become available.
Here's a pretty picture:

I've only tried the Jazzmaster XII in the store, and it plays and sound fantastic. I agree with you - it might be better sounding than my Alternate Reality XII.SignoftheDragon wrote: ↑Tue Jun 20, 2023 4:15 pmMy white one came in last week - been playing it a decent amount between family, job, and Diablo IV duties...

Re: Squier Paranormal Jazzmaster XII
Anyone recommend some cheap lower output pickups? Anything that'll fit in the routes?
Have only played it through digital modellers so far but it's just too hot and crunchy for my liking.
I've had Pickup Wizard ones in my CIJ Jazzmaster for years but even $190+PP seems overkill to put in this so far.

Local shops seem to be avoiding this one so far. I’m hoping one will show up. I may have to just order one.

Re: Squier Paranormal Jazzmaster XII
20 minute review:
Wow. 8lbs or under. Perfectly balanced. Nice neck. Not 1 bad fret or fret end.... This may be a better platform than the AR XII... Acoustically resonant. Factory set up is very good.
Neck pick up is fine, Bridge pickup is too hot. For 400 bucks this is just amazing....

Something I've noticed is that my most acoustically resonant, loudest, feel it in your gut guitars are my Squiers, and it's ALL of them, whether I purchased them as whole guitars or parts. My CV60s Strat, my CV70s FSR Jag, my wife's Bullet Mustang, my CV Partsmaster, my CV/40th Partsmaster, my CV/VM Partsguar. It's wild!

Re: Squier Paranormal Jazzmaster XII
Well, the main thing that makes a solid body guitar resonant is how big/deep the routes are under the pickguard, so there may be something to this.GilmourD wrote: ↑Thu Jul 06, 2023 11:19 amSomething I've noticed is that my most acoustically resonant, loudest, feel it in your gut guitars are my Squiers, and it's ALL of them, whether I purchased them as whole guitars or parts.
