Anyone else order a Staytrem lately?

Post by Powdered Toast Man » Thu Sep 14, 2023 8:51 pm

Staytrem is selling pre orders on their bridges. Website says about 8 weeks lead time. I ordered one and I’m over 8 weeks now with no word. Just wondering if anyone else has bought one recently and how long you waited?

I ordered from John about 5 weeks ago - when it said 8 weeks on the website - let‘s be patient - and check your spam emails too… last time I really missed his invoice and so had to wait some weeks more.

Agree - definitely check your spam emails, in case your notification slipped through.

Otherwise I think it’s just a matter of being patient. Staytrem is a one-man operation, and John is semi-retired these days. He is an honest man, and barring any physical illness I’m sure he is doing what he can.

And some point - likely in the relatively near future - i expect he will shut down operations completely. It will be sad, because he has been making some of the best, and definitely most reasonably priced, aftermarket offset parts.

Got my bridge and collet about 2 month ago. Came to me right around 7 1/2 weeks.

Not quite "lately", but I bought a Bass VI bridge on January 14th and it arrived April 24th.

I put in an order late June. Haven't heard anything yet, but it is what it is. Not in any hurry.

Ah. I think mine might have been in early July. I just wanted to get a sense of how accurate that 8 week quote on their site is. Sounds like they're more behind than that.

Just to chip in, I ordered a collet in mid-May, and it was done and being shipped about 11 weeks later, if that's useful.

Yeah - might have to use 8 weeks as a guideline. I believe he gets his parts made in batches in most cases - so there may be delays based on what is is being made and how deep the orders are.

I got an invoice for one today. I put in my order on the last week of June. So they are happening, I guess that was an 11 week wait.

Last time I ordered one it took 3 months. This was right after christmas 2022. Staytrem bridges are so good for me that I don't mind waiting at all. Always worth the wait.

Read that apparently he is developing a bass VI bridge for the new vintera II.
