Given how many Jazzmaster knock offs there are these days, I'm kind of surprised Schecter has never take their own shot.

This guitar has great specs. Gabon ebony fretboard with rolled edges :w00t:, Göldo vibrato . There is a lot of JM alternative above 1500$ (the price of a quality partcaster) but none that good below 600$.

There is still room for improvement in case Sire wants to release a J7 (stainless steel frets, matching headstock, rhythm circuit, modern heel joint, etc... ) :w00t:

The bad point is i have to wait july to get one. (this is what i read on the reverb page of CME). :freako:

I have one of their basses, and though the guitars/bass out of Asia, for me, tend to have that thicker plastic feel to them this bass is all muster. I can’t fault it in the slightest. Holds rune, plays immaculate; maybe some loose knobs? But I would happily own anything else they put out. I’m sure it’d be incredible. Plus as everyone is saying, that price point! I’ve been eyeing some used Sire hollowbodies here locally, but this is a cool development! :w00t:

Love it.
Ebony board with medium jumbos and 9.5? Hell yes.

While I was waiting for a V7 2 gen jazz bass to come back into stock, a 1st gen appeared locally at a price that was too good to miss (DKK 2400 including a hard case) so I picked it up the other day.
Very happy with and impressed by it, especially considering that this is supposedly the "worst" version of these basses.
So yeah... now I'm even more convinced that these new offsets are probably the best shizz for the money.

That’s criminally cheap for Scandinavia. You can’t even get a parking spot for that price! Haha :D

I've got a Sire V5 (their passive J-bass) and their naming conventions suggest that this is about the same tier. If so, I would have very high expectations. My bass if fantastic quality - not just for the money, but full stop - and if these are close then they'll be brilliant.

So what is the Göldo DG vibrato like? Does it have more range than a regular Jazzmaster trem? If so it makes more sense the cheaper versions have Strat Trems.

<ahem> Hellcat

I even like the headstock on that one.

I used to own a Hellcat VI, close but not a Jazzmaster copy in the same way they've got copies of better known Fenders.

The Hellcat VIs were all the rage on here before Fender got The Real Thing ball rolling (almost) with the Pawnshop VI followed by the Squier VM VIs, but the one I linked to is the almost-forgotten plain Hellcat, a 25.5" scale, standard tuned mishmash of a Jaguar and Jazzmaster....if either of them had a middle pickup. In many ways it's as close to a Fender copy as many of their other Fender copies, i.e. about 80% of the way there, but someone had the bright idea of 'adding' something extra since the wrong-headed headstock meant it could never really be a straight copy anyway.

Funny, that was my exact path: Hellcat VI with the kinda yucky mini hums because it was the only option to the Pawnshop VI. The Hellcat was really well built, it's just those pickups were a drag. Never got my hands on the single coil VI version that was more explicitly Fender like. Never got to play a Hellcat guitar, I think an earlier variant was called a Spitfire. I know the guy from Jawbox was big on his at one point.
