Vintage Guitars- Revo Series

Post by sal paradise » Thu Feb 08, 2024 3:04 pm

Been waiting about a year for these, and they look pretty cool…

“Created in conjunction with world-renowned British guitar builder and designer Alan Entwistle, the Vintage® REVO Series™ of Retro Vintage Originals™, brings a quirky, indie edge to the party with guitars and basses in offset, traditional, semi-acoustic and über cool unique styles.”

Vintage Revo guitars

There’s a few models across 3 shapes: colt, surfmaster & integra(?), £400-£600. Here’s a random selection…

They've got a semi-hollow offset 12-string too which looks seriously kind of tempting. More so to me than the recent Squier XIIs because I do think 12-strings are required to be semi-hollow.

Probably the neck is exactly the same as used to be on my Revelation RJT60/12, in which case the nut is on the wider side, but everything else about that guitar was solid as hell, and this gets rid of the Strat vibrato that was my one real bone to pick with it.

I would love to know what those pickups sound like. They're being called Astrosonics which has me wishfully thinking of the Vox/Eko Ferro-Sonics that I'm slightly obsessed with and that were used by Spacemen 3 (thus Astro, possibly?) among others. That also seems like something Entwistle might be up for trying to re-create, and would be a huge selling point for me if they nail the sound.

EDIT: I guess not.

I wonder what happened to the Vitnage guitars that were debuted at NAMM a couple of years back?

Some cool-ish designs. I have always hated the brand name Vintage though, really hitting the search engine optimisation but these are the last things people looking for "vintage guitars" are actually looking for.

All 24.75" scale length as well, where's my 24" guitars at!? Mustang bodies are just too small for me and I have 4 Jags already.

Are these the same as Revelation guitars? They do look similar.

I like that green Mustang with humbuckers and the Jag switches.
