Anyone know which trem the MIJ FSRs use? I’m after a Staytrem collet / arm but don’t know which size (metric or imperial) to order. I’m sure I read somewhere that these used the USA trem system but I may have imagined this.
Can confirm 100% that they are MIJ units - swapped mine out for a Mastery (can't stand the strings rubbing against the screw heads!).

Strat & Tele will also be available in "Twilight" - whatever that is, but it's also in June and thus also probably flame maple. I speculate black/blue/purple.

Noticed the Fender Japan FSR Traditional 60s Jazzmaster HH RW Black at Bax Music, eta yet unkown. At a price of 1.849 euro it is only 300 euro "cheaper" than the USA Fender American Vintage II 1966 Jazzmaster Dakota Red RW (2.150 euro), which comes with a Fender hard case instead of the JP gigbag.
These were briefly on sale several months ago in the UK for about £1200.

I think when the first iteration of these were released in the UK last year (the sunburst version), they were initially around £1500. I'm presuming the upcharge was because they have the expensive cunife wide range pickups installed. Don't think they shifted at £1500 though and got reduced soon after.

AFAIK that's part of the 2023 "limited run" that Fender Japan made for the domestic market (including the B&B Jaguar and Jazzmaster in sunburst and ice blue metallic, the "late 60's" from the Traditional II series), and of which limited quantities were allowed for export to EU, UK & US. They will never come back in stock.

For anyone interested, Miki Gakki in Japan ordered them in 2023 as a special run, and they are still making new ones, which you can order here:

These have re-appeared across several UK retailers in the past few months, listed as pre-order. Either they are being produced again or they have a surplus they want to shift.

Either way, it's a good opportunity for anybody that missed the first run.

I'm very happy with mine, it's an excellent guitar.

I love this - it's cool af it's loaded with some kind of pickup that aesthetically matches the Seth Lover WRHBs, plus B&B neck if you're into that (I prefer dots only) but I fail to see with that loadout how it's a "traditional" Jazzmaster as per the English in the title on the picture... 😂

Those aren't just aesthetic lookalikes, those are real CuNiFe Wide Range Humbuckers.

That makes a nice change! I have to phrase it like that due to the amount of times I've been caught out by lookalikes, and in fact I own one -

Resemble WRHBs although arguably the pickup rings give the game away they're something else, which is true - coil-splittable Fireball pickups, sound great - mini-review of the guitar focusing on the pickups. It's an underrated oddball Fender offset like the Jag/JM used to be.

Yeah, there are a lot of fake ones out there, including from Fender themselves. But in 2020 (I believe), they actually starting reissuing proper CuNiFe Wide Range Humbuckers. I had bought a vintage '76 Tele Deluxe thinking they'd never reissue those pickups again about a year prior. Pickups in that guitar sound awesome but it's the worst guitar I've ever played otherwise (neck pocket is so big the neck shifts and goes out of tune while playing). That's a few grand I wish I could have back. I wouldn't even want to sell it I consider it so bad so I put it in a new body.

But I digress.

I now have two sets of the modern Fender originals (one in a Tele Deluxe RI, another in one of these "Traditional 60's Jazzmasters") as well as a vintage set in another Tele Deluxe. The new ones hold up the originals. But the originals do sound a tad bit better to my ear.

Is there a way to figure out which shops this specific model is available through? Not available through kinko btw.

I’m not paying secondary but might have family traveling soon.

Found one here. It may be worth emailing to see if they'll hold it for you - given it's a special run from last year I don't think there would be many available.

Ah thank you but as I said before I'm very happy with my sunburst. They seem to be pretty widely available again, more so than the original run, Fender are selling them through their own website too!
