thanks guys ! I still have a big grin on my face , the Jag is awesome. On monday I can play it in our reherseal room, i can't wait...
One thing though: my girlfriend doesn't know I bought the Jag. Any hints how I can handle this ?
The thing is, it is almost impossible to capture the color right with my digicam. On the pictures from wildwood guitar the blue looks much more saturated than in natura.
I also had a CIJ once in OLB (old lake placid blue). I liked it too but I always thought the color was a little too light. On the USA one the color is more accurate. It looks perfect in my opinion, I wouldn't trade the guitar for anything...
One thing though: my girlfriend doesn't know I bought the Jag. Any hints how I can handle this ?

yes it's metallic, you can see it in Picture #8 and #9 (the only pictures with flashlight). The color changes according to the angle you look at it.SurfGreen wrote: Is Lake Placid Blue a metalic color?

True dat! My avri jm is like 3 months old and the back is already scratched to hell from my belt, and there's a small chip right through to the wood on the top side, don't even know how that happened! Probably need to drink less at gigs. I got my first nitro as a college graduation present (in May of this year), and I'm already starting to notice some wear! Granted my band has been playing a lot of gigs recently (and it didn't help when one of my band mates accidentally slammed the head of his guitar into the body of mine, causing a pencil eraser sized divot ) but it has been happening a lot faster than I expected. I've had my CIJ JM since 2004, and it's Poly finish is only now starting to show wear.
I like the way naturally relic-ed guitars look, but I still cringe every time something happens to my guitar! I think it's like with children, they're still a baby in your mind until one day you notice they're all grown up and going off to college! And then you're just like "WTF! I just got you last month!"
Which poses the question - when you spend a ton of cash on a nice guitar, do you wrap it up in cotton wool and try and keep it in pristine condition, or play it as you would normally play and just enjoy the cosmetic effects of wear and tear?
I personally think the wear and tear looks pretty cool, and i already love my jm enough to know i'm not going to want to sell it, so why keep it pristine? Every bit of wear is like a personal touch.

Congrats on the new Jag. I live in the UK and was lucky to get a 2007 Shoreline Gold Jaguar from Vintage and Rare in London earlier this year.
